Furniture Misappropriation

Good morning, Ashby!

I wanted to take some time out today to remind you about a policy here in the halls called furniture misappropriation. According to the hall policy: Students may not remove university equipment or furniture from its assigned room, suite, lounge or other area within a residence hall. Unauthorized removal of furniture within a building or from one building to another will be considered misappropriation.

This is to say that the couches that have been moved out of the TV Lounges and Study lounges and into the hallways in the basement are now misappropriated. I need those who moved the couches to put them back in the appropriate location and to restrain from moving them in the future.

If you have any questions about this or any hall policy, always feel free to ask!

Until next time...

St. Patrick's Day

Good morning, Ashby!!!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

For those of you who do not know, Saint Patrick's Day is a yearly holiday celebrated on 17 March. It is named after Saint Patrick (circa AD 387–461), the most commonly recognized of the patron saints of Ireland. It is widely celebrated in America by Irish and non-Irish alike. Many people, regardless of ethnic background, wear green-coloured clothing and items. Traditionally, those who are caught not wearing green are pinched affectionately.

Today we will have our own St. Patty's Day fun with a scavenger hunt. Below you will see a photograph of the "clues" you will find around the building and the "pot of gold" that you're searching for at the end of the hunt!

Here is your first clue to get you started...
I am a place where things are so fresh and so clean...
I am full of front-loaders and love to take your flex $ away!

And...you're off! Good luck! And tell your friends to visit the blog today to get their first clue!

Until next time...

Programs/Advertisements

Good morning, Ashby!

I'd like to do a little bit of a survey/polling day here on the Ashby blog! I would like to get a feel for what you're hoping to see more of in the second half of this semester in terms of programming. I would also like to understand better what type of advertising most catches your eye and gets to come to a program!

So, please take some time to complete the polls on the right hand side and let me know what you think!!!

Until next time...
Katie, Ashby Hall Director

PS. Tomorrow, we will be having some St. Patrick's Day fun here on the blog...so spread the word among your fellow Ashbians...they won't want to miss out!

3. I will be leaving this Thursday to head to a conference in Boston. I will be gone from this Thursday until next Wednesday. As always when I'm away, please contact one of the RAs. There is a back-up HD covering our building during those times that I'm away and the RAs know who to call in certain situations. Just wanted to give you a heads up I'd be away for a long time!
